Natasha Bedingfield returns this weekend with her latest single Lighthearted, a breezy optimistic little number that shines through its airy production and a warm vocal from the British songstress. Natasha co-writes with Simon Wilcox and Wayne Wilkins, with Wilkins and Billy Gerrity stepping in for production duties.
Centred on the theme of overcoming dark times, Natasha sings “I’ve lived through the darkness like this / Made it to the morning / And I’m lighthearted, hearted, lighthearted / Maybe there’s a sun in my chest / Can’t say what it is…” shining as a well-intentioned anthem of resilience. An elegant vocal turn from Natasha showcases this as a intriguing new direction for the Unwritten hitmaker.
Natasha’s most recent studio album was 2019’s Roll With Me. The singer has an impressive number of bops to her name including Strip Me, These Words and Love Like This.
