Oi! RuPaul’s Drag Race UK favourite and all round counter-cultural icon Bimini Bon-Boulash releases their debut solo single, God Save This Queen. The track is a contemporary punk anthem celebrating non-binary identity, working class upbringings, and breaking boundaries. We are delighted to see that Bimini has shown that they are a force to be reckoned with on a musical front.
God Save This Queen is written by Bimini, Billy Blond and Redshank – the latter who also steps in for production duties. With attitude-filled vocals and chanting with a rocket-fuelled sense of punk, Bimini is accompanied by sharp guitar and angsty percussion on the rollicking track.
The single is accompanied by a video drawing inspiration from the likes of Derek Jarman’s Jubilee and Vivienne Westwood’s work, brimming with a very British classic punk sensibility and energy. This is directed by Kassandra Powell.
