Veronica Green showed the world that she had undeniably impressive musical chops during her time on RuPaul’s Drag Race UK and she continues to do so on her debut single Stars. The track which packs an elegant musical-theatre flavour through its sweeping production, is produced and written by Hayley Sanderson and Ian Masterson.
There is a real elegant musical theatre grandness on the track and Veronica sells its poignant lyrics with a real conviction to the point where you could imagine this being in a smash West End show. Veronica shared a little inspiration behind the track: “I think a lot of people will relate to this song coming from small towns and villages and finding their place and acceptance in a big city. It’s a big musical theatre style pop song that provides the perfect introduction to my musical world.”
Ian has an incredible pop CV working with Dannii & Kylie Minogue, Bananarama, Geri Halliwell and Girls Aloud. He is also serving as music producer on BBC’s Stricty alongside Hayley Sanderson who works as a vocalist on the show.
We’re excited to hear what else Veronica has been cooking up musically ahead of her return to RuPaul’s Drag Race UK in series three.
