James Newman returns to represent the United Kingdom at Eurovision after being unveiled as the entry for the cancelled 2020 contest in Rotterdam last year. James brings Embers, an up-tempo anthem to the fold for the 2021 contest and we must say we are hugely impressed.
“Out of the embers, You and I are gonna light up the room (Yeah, you and I gonna light up the room), Out of the embers, There’s a fire burning for you (Yeah, there’s a fire burning for you),” James belts against energetic production packed with synths and sax. The track is written by James, Conor Blake, Danny Shah, Tom Hollings & Samuel Brennan.
We are delighted that James has brought something up-tempo this year, something truly needed after the cancellation of the 2020 contest which was due to see him sing My Last Breath. This is a smart, fresh Radio 1 sounding jam that could do very well.
