Trailer: Michael Douglas in Behind the Candelabra

The first trailer for HBO’s Liberace biopic, Behind the Candelabra, has appeared on online and it looks a bit brilliant. There’s glitz, glamour, decadence and unadulterated camp.

Michael Douglas stars as the famed pianist, with the feature detailing his life with young lover, Scott Thorson (Matt Damon). Behind the Candelabra also stars Debbie Reynolds, Rob Lowe and Dan Akroyd.

We have high expectations – HBO have brought us some of the finest TV Films/Mini-series, like the recent Phil Spector biopic and 2003’s magnificent Angels in America. With Steven Soderbergh directing, it’s a safe bet that Behind the Candelabra is not likely to disappoint.

Behind the Candelabra is set to debut on HBO in May.
