Lawson have had a productive 2020 with the release of an impressive five singles this year, all thought to be featured on their upcoming cmd z album. The English pop group made up of Andy Brown, Ryan Fletcher, Joel Peats, and Adam Pitts are currently signed to Cooking Vinyl and release their latest single Hell Yeah through the label.
“If I only had one wish, I wish we’d never met, never met, And If I only got one kiss, I’d kiss goodbye to regrets that night, Don’t ask how it feels, Coz it hurts like hell yeah,” the band sing on the bittersweet break-up anthem that features production from Martin Sjølie and writing from Sjølie, Josh Record and Tom Mann. The track is also accompanied by a video charting the downfall of the relationship at the heart of it, as the band perform pensively.
Hell Yeah follows Lovers, Animals, Four Letters, and She Don’t Even Know – all of which showcase an impressive progression in the band’s sound since their 2016 album Perspective. cmd z is scheduled to be released on the 21st of May 2021. You can pre-order now from the band’s official store.
