Singing against crunching electronic production, rising queer musician Boy Virgo sings “I don’t know why I love so hard, because every time I break apart,” on his emotive new track Psycho.
Detailing the ups-and-downs of falling in and out of love, Psycho captures the queer dating experience in a hugely honest, emotive way. With powerful vocals set atop rippling electronic waves of production, Psycho is a stunning showcase for the exciting rising pop star.
Boy Virgo, real name Michael Dermer, a New Zealand based singer-songwriter, told us a little a bit about the meaning behind the track: “Honestly my main inspiration to create this song was just how low my mental health had become. I had reached this point where I was just beating myself up about how my life isn’t going how I want it, I keep falling for stupid people etc.”
