We are delighted that Canadian electropop duo Homofonik – made up of Josh Travnik, and Daniel Belland – have decided to spin the camp of the Halloween season into their upcoming October 23rd scheduled EP Smoke and Mirrors. The duo release the EP’s title track this weekend and it’s a slick slice of high energy pop that fans of their debut release Taste will adore.
Tackling the subject matter of a destructive relationship, Homofonik utilise pulsating basslines, John Carpenter-like synths, and unsettling lyrical content to produce a brooding pop delight on Smoke and Mirrors.
We’re always bombarded by Christmas themed musical releases, so we are glad that Josh and Daniel are tapping into the untapped Halloween-themed musical market. Brooding, unsettling dance music is the perfect treat during the spooky Autumnal months.
