Vancouver based Reid Zakos and RedPanda Productions bring us atmospheric synth track Deck of Cards – a moody showcase to the concept of versatility and playing all your cards to present your talents.
Written by Reid and RedPanda Productions, the track was inspired by the queens of RuPaul’s Drag Race and their ability to showcase not just one talent, but a full plethora – or deck of cards. Reid’s calm and charismatic vocals, guide us through RedPanda’s subtle, yet entrancing electronic production. With lyrics such as “I want your roulette rendezvous /
I want you, yeah I want you / But there’s some things we got to prove /
I’ll bet on me, you bet on you,” Reid and RedPanda do a great job at conjuring up imagery of gambling, decadent high stakes, and regal imagery.
You can see some of this card themed imagery in the inventive visual above – adorned with card symbols and striking red and green roulette colours. The gorgeous Reid always does an incredible job at capturing distinctive themes and concepts with his material as shown in his mythology themed album Legends & Myths.
