Rising star Vardaan Arora has revealed some of the details surrounding his debut EP Heartbreak on the Dance Floor which is due to arrive on August 21st. Vardaan gives us the latest taste of the set, I Don’t Wanna Know featuring K-Pop star MRSHLL. You can pre-save the EP here.
I Don’t Wanna Know is a moody, attitude-filled electronic anthem written by Vardaan, Marshall Bang, and Ken Gao. With echoes of Johnny Jewel in the production style, the track shines in its sexy lyrics and the pairing of MRSHLL and Vardaan’s vocals.
In June Vardaan released Imposter Syndrome a synthy dancefloor gem centred on themes of abandoning self-doubt and embracing anxieties instead of fearing them. Also featuring on the EP is Rare – a cover of the title track of Selena Gomez’s third studio album. On the EP, Vardaan notes: “I’ve been working on this project with some very special people for the better part of this very weird year, and seeing it come together has filled me with much needed light.” Whilst Vardaan speaks about the light the creative process has supplied him, the same can be said for the audiences that have been enjoying the singer’s material.
The singer shared on Instagram: “This is a milestone for me – a long awaited shift in perspective. a journey that explores the coexistence of heartbreak, self-doubt and confidence all through the lens of a pop star fantasy that my younger self dreamed of living.” It’s clear that Vardaan and his collaborators have poured their hearts into the release, shown in the outstanding previous releases and the evident sense of passion behind the project.
