Damien Leone’s 2016 horror Terrifier didn’t strike us as instant material to be a cult classic – but what do we know, as it has obviously stemmed enough interest to lead to a follow-up. Four years on from the original, Leone returns to write and direct the sequel, bringing the bloodthirsty monochrome Art the Clown back to wreak havoc on unsuspecting victims. The official synopsis notes:
After being resurrected by a sinister entity, Art the Clown returns to the timid town of Miles County where he targets a teenage girl and her younger brother on Halloween night.
The teaser above showcases the grungy, exploitation-inspired aesthetic style that Terrifier 2 will share with its predecessor. Practical gore, over-the-top acting, and some moments of camp clown chaos are expected.
The sequel stars Lauren LaVera (Sienna), Tamara Glynn (Shopping Mother), Nedim Jahić (Travis Bryant), Felissa Rose (Ms.Principe), Jason Lively (Police Officer), and David Howard Thornton (Art the Clown). The release date has yet to be confirmed.
