Swedish pop icon Basshunter returns with new single Angels Ain’t Listening, a synth laden eighties inspired jam. The track is a big bold stadium synth-rock number that sees the singer’s distinctive raw vocals shine against bouncing electronic production.
Angels Ain’t Listening is written by Basshunter and Jimmy Thornfeldt, Thomas G:son and Bilal Hajji. G:son is obviously the man behind several standout tracks such as Carola’s Invincible, Loreen’s Euphoria and Tom Leeb’s The Best in Me. The track is produced by Swedish producer Jimmy Joker.
This is Basshunter’s first track in seven years that he lends his own vocals to. His previous 2019 single Home featured Linnea Deb as the lead vocalist. It’s nice to hear Basshunter’s own voice again and he carries the track well. The singer notes that the track is about having to find yourself before devoting your life to another.
