Mel C follows her previous two dancefloor-tinged singles High Heels and Who I Am with Blame It On Me – a rousing electronic pop number, which is our opinion, her best single in quite some time.
The track written by Mel, Niamh Murphy, Samuel Brennan, and Tom Hollings, and is produced by Billen Ted. Blame It On Me plays with the same genre as Mel’s previous two singles yet shows you can do massively different and exciting things within the expected confines of dancepop. Of course, Mel also brings powerhouse Northern vocals to the track, soaring against the slinky electronic pop beat.
The track comes accompanied with a video inspired by classic video games like Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat and Tekken, whilst also showcasing Mel’s expected messages of female empowerment.
Blame It On Me is expected to feature on Mel’s upcoming studio album – the details of which are yet to be revealed. Stream the new track above.
