Martina McBride was the recent guest on NBC’s Songland which saw producer Ester Dean and songwriter Halie craft new composition Girls Like Me for the country singer.
The midtempo country number is McBride’s first piece of original material since her 2016 album Reckless which featured the tracks Reckless and Just Around the Corner. McBride is most famous for her country hits: Independence Day, Wild Angels, Wrong Again, and Blessed.
Lady Antebellum also recently found success with the Songland originating single Champagne Night, whilst the show has also been responsible for strong tracks for The Jonas Brothers, One Republic, Leona Lewis, and John Legend.
