Cherry Jones alert! The iconic actress co-stars with Chris Evans, Michelle Dockery, and Jaeden Martell in the upcoming Apple TV series Defending Jacob. This marks another high profile release for Apple who are aiming to position themselves as a rival to streaming giants Netflix and Amazon. The synopsis for the series notes:
“Defending Jacob” unfolds around a shocking crime that rocks a small Massachusetts town, and follows assistant district attorney Andy Barber (Evans), who finds himself torn between his sworn duty to uphold justice and his unconditional love for his son, Jacob (Martell).
The eight episode series marks Evans’ highest profile TV appearance in recent years and is based on William Landay’s 2012 novel.
Defending Jacob will premiere with three episodes exclusively on Apple TV+ on April 24, followed by new episodes weekly every Friday through May 29.
